I am currently using my wind synthesizer to control my Triton Extreme Keyboard and I am interested in joining a band in the Ocala Florida area. I feel it will be much easier to find a good band if I can offer keyboard as well as all the wind instruments. I will play backup blues and jazz on the keyboard and Sax, Trumpet, Flute, and Organ solos as required. I want to play Jazz, Blues, R&B, and classic Rock in Ocala. I want to find a real good professional band to work with. I will be posting examples of my keyboard music on this site soon. AK

The 2009 Jacksonville Jazz Festival was Excellent. I was honored to play and really enjoyed the experience. There were 2 big stages and two small ones. I played on one of the smaller ones but the crowd was everywhere and they really appreciate good Jazz. The Headliners are too numorous to mention but go to WWW.jaxjazzfest.com for info and upcoming events. My favorites were Chris Botti and Rick Braun with Jazz Attack. I spent 2 days at the Festival and listened to so many good bands. It humbled me. A great festival not to be missed next year.

Al King has been playing music all his life, starting with Trumpet at the age of eight. Al played trumpet in marching and concert bands in Elementary through High School. After graduation, he got interested in Rock and Blues and started playing those genres while attending two years of college. He auditioned for a working road band from NYC and became the ninth member and the lead trumpet player for a band called Wizardry. After touring with this band and others for four years, Al decided to join the Navy as an Electronics Technician specializing in RADAR. He never put down his horn and continued playing in ship's bands and finally ended up stationed in Italy for four years. Al's work took him to many countries in Europe. He had the unique opportunity to play in over 150 USO concerts and played in many late night jazz clubs. This is where Al honed his Improvisational skills and defined himself as a jazz musician. After leaving the NAVY, Al continued to work for the Navy but travel was a strain on his trumpet playing. He decided to find an instrument that didn't require lip training and operated by just blowing into it. He found the Yamaha WX-5 wind synthesizer, coupled with the Yamaha VL70M tone generator with Patchman's Music's acoustic instruments chip. This allows Al to play 256 different instruments using this MIDI controller. Al has developed a one man show comprised of sets of background music while playing leads and solos using the WX-5. Al has most recently purchased an AKAI EWI-4000s and is playing this also. Al lives in the Ocala Florida area and is currently interested in joining a good band. Feel free to contact me via email (see Contact Us above) and I will provide my phone number upon request.
